ORLANDO, Fla. – Twenty-two years ago, Mike Simmons left his career in medicine and returned to where he first started working, restaurants.

Now, he is getting ready to open the first Tom’s Watch Bar location in Florida. It will be in Orlando’s tourism district at 8050 International Drive and is set to open in early April.

Simmons, the operating partner for the brand said Orlando was the ideal location because people from all over the U.S. visit here.

“There was no more perfect location than Orlando and I-Drive, where sports fans from all over the country can come together and cheer on the winners or mourn the losers,” Simmons said in a prepared statement.

This restaurant will occupy the two top floors of the Hollywood Plaza Parking Garage.

It will feature a patio where guests can see most of Orlando’s attractions from rocket launches to Walt Disney World’s fireworks.  There will also be two virtual golf bays.

Tom’s Watch Bar is known for “all the sports, all the time” — so there will also be hundreds of TV screens to watch all sports, according to the brand’s website.

The restaurant will serve wings, burgers, tacos, nachos and more. However, Simmons said the most popular item will be its prime rib dip sandwich, which is served on brioche bread with a demi-glace and horseradish cream sauce.

There are currently 11 locations across the U.S. However, Tom’s Watch Bar is looking to potentially add more restaurants across Florida in cities such as Miami and Tampa. To learn more about the brand and to check out its other locations click here.
