MONTVERDE, Fla. – Basketball at Montverde Academy is known as a national powerhouse, and this week’s Player of the Week is certainly making her mark.
Jaloni Cambridge is a senior point guard for the Montverde Academy girls’ basketball team. She does a little bit of everything for the team.
Cambridge is averaging 20 points, 8 assists and 7 rebounds for the Eagles. She recently committed to play collegiately for Ohio State University.

Cambridge says Montverde feels like a second home since she transferred from her home state, Tennessee, last year.
“It’s definitely different,” Cambridge told News 6. “They play on a national schedule here, and it’s different for me because at home, we’re just playing against the same people over and over. But it’s challenged me, and it’s been great challenges. I can get through anything now that I’m here challenged by like-minded people and like-minded coaches.”
