Orlando City Council to vote on ‘Vision Zero’ traffic study aimed at improving safety on the roads

Plan would examine 6 corridors across Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Orlando City Council is set to vote on a traffic study that will try to prevent fatalities at several roads and intersections in the city.

The city of Orlando is seeking whether to enter an agreement with the Florida Department of Transportation and the US Department of Transportation to receive grant funding for what is being called Orlando CROSS: Connecting Residents on Safe Streets.

The grant would fund the development of “Vision Zero,” a regionwide push aimed at vastly improving safety on the roads.
